John Walker King George V Lunar New Year 2021 Blended Scotch Whisky

Another legendary whisky celebrating the Lunar New Year and King George V at the same time.

Exquisite Packaging for Exquisite Whisky

Johnnie Walker are celebrating the lunar new year 2022 with two new, exclusive releases, each with packaging designed by Chinese artist Shan Jiang. The bottles are stunning and make for excellent collectibles. They are the newest additions to a series that is released annually and honours the Chinese Zodiac.

Sandra Tassilly, Diageo’s Global Travel Commercial Director, said “Combining the rich history of Chinese culture with the world-leading Johnnie Walker whisky, the yearly edition collectable bottles are highly desirable for all consumers, and whisky enthusiasts in particular,”

For the 2022 King George edition, the bottle features a Bai Ze, which is a mythical cow-like creature that features in Chinese legends. It is said to represent “virtuousness, nobility and protection from evil”. It represents the Year of the Ox, which is the Zodiac sign for 2022.

This particular whisky is a blended combination of some pretty rare and exclusive malts created at distilleries that were active in the reign of King George V. Included in this cohort is Port Ellen, one of Islay’s most famous inactive distilleries.

Like most Johnnie Walker whiskies, this is a wonderfully sophisticated yet accessible blend. It has been released under the John Walker & Sons brand, which is reserved for their most exclusive and rare malts.
