Oldest Release

This is Benromach’s oldest expression in their new line up. Their new core whiskies were released in 2020 and this new malt will join them as the oldest whisky. The brand itself has recently undergone a transformation and this new structure of whiskies is part of that rebranding.

Not only is this an exciting addition to Benromach’s portfolio, but it has also been made an annual release. Made in batches, this malt will now be made available every year for Benromach fans to indulge in. This first release is made up of 1000 bottles and is a real treat for Benromach enthusiasts and whisky lovers alike.

Having been matured in Oloroso Sherry casks for an incredible 40 years, this is a whisky that is full of life and needs to be tasted to be believed. Aren’t we lucky it’s now a permanent member of the  Benromach family?

Tasting notes for Benromach 40 Year Old Single Malt Speyside Scotch Whisky

Bottle cost: £1,500

The nose begins with bright notes of ginger, apple pies, dried fruit and cinnamon spice. It is warming and full of well aged sherry notes.

The palate is equally stunning. It brings in notes of citrus fruits, cream buns, vanilla and oak wood. The body is incredibly smooth, evoking a soft caramel note that goes perfectly with the oak wood.

The finish is bold and spicy. The cinnamon lingers with hints of oak wood.

This new release is soon to become one of your favourites. The flavour and feel of the whisky are expertly crafted not only by the distillers but by the perfect combination of good oak wood and time.
