Mary Low Alcohol Botanical Blended Spirit

let’s begin

With more people opting for low alcoholic drinks, there has been a flood of low ABV or non-alcoholic spirits joining the market. Mary is one of them.

Options

Mary is one of a few new brands that are providing options for those of us who no longer want to overindulge when it comes to alcohol. In today’s mindful society, where wellness is really taking off, many people are shunning over drinking and choosing something with a low ABV is the perfect alternative.

As well as low ABV drinks, there are also a raft of non-alcoholic options available. A lot of drinks brands will do non-alcoholic versions of customer favourites, meaning you don’t have to compromise on flavour to enjoy an alcohol free drink.

One of the most recent additions to the market is Mary, a low alcohol, low calorie spirit that is also responsibly sourced. It’s really hitting all of today’s trends and it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg either (£23.90 from them direct), sitting around some of the more reasonable gins. At only 6% ABV, it is filling a hole for those who love a gin/vodka/whatever and tonic but don’t want the hangover the next day.

Mary has a wonderful simplicity to it. It is made from only 7 botanicals, including juniper, thyme, sage and basil and doesn’t beat around the bush. With Mary, you know exactly what you’re getting and what you’re getting it for.

Tasting notes for Mary Low Alcohol Spirit

The nose is sharp and sweet to begin with, opening on lots of juniper and pine needle notes. It is very refreshing and has all of the best bits you would expect in a good gin.

The palate is slightly sweeter, with hints of spice throughout. The herbs really shine here, giving it a nice earthy aroma, with a fresh feel to it.

The finish is full of juniper and herb notes, rounding off well.

This is a flavour forward low alcohol spirit that has a good quality feel to it. If you haven’t opted for low ABV before, this might just change your mind.
