Created in collaboration with Swedish jeweller Efva Attling, Mackmyra’s Moment Efva is a great Swedish malt.
Mackmyra is one of inly a handful of distilleries in Sweden and were in fact the first to open, in 1999. Since then they have led the charge in creating excellent Swedish malt and innovating in wood maturation.
Some of the maturation techniques they have used are world firsts. This includes using Swedish oak, casks seasoned with green tea leaves, others that have matured Swedish birch sap wine and even Swedish peat.
They are at the forefront of innovation in this regard, although are not as well known as many other brands. That doesn’t stop them though, and they keep challenging and innovating as they go.
The Mackmyra Moment Range has been handpicked by Master Blender Angela D’Orazio and includes some exclusive and intriguing bottlings.
Some stand out malts from this range include Karibien, matured in Jamaican Rum casks, Prestige, matured in Champagne casks and Körsbärsrök, meaning Cherry Smoke, which was includes peated and non-peated malts matured in cherry wine casks.
Moment Efva is an excellent malt from the Moment Range. It has been handpicked by Swedish jeweller Efva Attling together with D’Orazio. This malt has been created from whiskies various American oak, ex-Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry casks used to mature birch sap wine and finally Cherry Wood casks.
