Daddy Rack, an original Tennessee Straight Small Batch Whiskey, launches into the UK

let’s begin

This innovative and approachable Tennessee Whiskey uses an original recipe to appeal to first-time whiskey drinkers and whiskey lovers alike

Daddy Rack, an original Tennessee Straight Small Batch Whiskey, is launching into the UK this month. Made from an original recipe, Daddy Rack was created by J. Arthur Rackham using innovative techniques, resulting in one of the smoothest Tennessee Whiskies around. Having launched in Tennessee, the home State of Tennessee Whiskey, Daddy Rack was one of the most successful whiskey launches in the US last year with 129% liquor store distribution in the first 8 weeks. Arriving in Scotland first, Daddy Rack will be available to the rest of the UK from March.

A product of Mayfield Distilling Company, Daddy Rack is a unique Tennessee Straight Small Batch Whiskey made from locally farmed corn, a 72-hour Sour Mash and lightly rectified copper double distillation. It is then filtered using the famous Lincoln County Maple Charcoal slow filtration process, which filters the whiskey through a dense layer of sugar maple charcoal, before maturing in new, charred American Oak Barrels.

20 barrels are selected for a Master Batch Blend by Rackham himself. Prior to being blended these whiskies go through a light second Maple Charcoal filtration to add a final smoothness. The 20 selected barrels are then batch blended using an original recipe, with no colouring, caramel or additional flavours added.

Daddy Rack is light gold amber in appearance, with notes of maple, honey, light oak and caramelised banana. It has a smooth and buttery mouthfeel, with flavours of roasted apple and banana, leading on to vanilla and a hint of nutmeg. The finish is rich and warm with subtle notes of salted popcorn.

Daddy Rack was created by J. Arthur Rackham, AKA “Daddy Rack,” a name given to him by his eldest daughter Grace. A Master Blender with more than 30 years of experience working with distillers and cellar masters across Europe, Rackham has used his expertise blending spirits to create a Tennessee Straight Whiskey that will delight first-time whiskey drinkers and connoisseurs alike.

Tennessee Whiskey conforms to all the rules of Bourbon, including the requirement to be made from at least 51% corn. Unlike Bourbon, which can be made in any State, Tennessee Whiskey can only be made in Tennessee. All of Daddy Rack’s corn is high-grade quality and sourced from local farmers within 50 miles of the distillery. The corn (80%) is milled with rye (10%) and malted barley (10%).

Daddy Rack is distributed by Emporia Brands and will be available to purchase from Royal Mile Whiskies from February.
