Results of the UK’s favourite cocktail survey 2017
With the cocktail being one of the most popular drinks to be consumed on a hen weekend, party planning specialists Hen Heaven ran a survey in January 2017 to identify just what the UK’s favourite cocktail was. It can be revealed that after analysing data collected from 2210 participants, that the overall winner was the zesty Mojito with 7.77% of the votes.
A previous winner from a 2015 survey performed by long haul travel specialists Jarvis and Hayes was the mighty Piña Colada, which dropped down to position two in 2017with 150 votes from the 2210 participants.
The 2017 survey saw the popularity of the Long Island Iced Tea increase, with this particular drink receiving 7.28% of the votes andcrept up to position three from position eight back in 2015.
The least popular cocktail was the Appletini, which came in last with just 0.5% of the votes, whilst the Margherita which was 2015’s number two slot on the top ten, was pushed off the 2017 top ten most popular cocktails completely!
Looking at results by age range, the under 25 bracket opted for the Martini as their favourite cocktail with 11.36%, whilst the 26-45 age group voted for the Mojito with 13.3%. The 46 and over category chose the classic Sex On The Beach cocktail as their number one which received 11.11% of the votes.
Breaking down the results by gender revealed that males selected the Long Island Iced Tea as their favourite with 7.78% of the votes whilst females chose the Piña Coladaas their favourite cocktail with 9.57%. With both genders combined, the Mojito was the overall winner which indicated that it was a cocktail thatis enjoyed by both genders.
