The 277 year Old Fine Wine & Spirits Merchant’s London Townhouse has been Revived for Private Clients, Producers and Collectors

This September, fine wine and rare spirits merchant Justerini & Brooks returns to 61 St James’s Street, marking a new chapter in its 277-year history. The longstanding St James’s landmark now presents a newly revived experience dedicated to fine wine and rare spirits in London’s heartland.

For almost three centuries, Justerini & Brooks has built its reputation on expertise and luxury service, with a spirit of passion, knowledge, bonhomie, and generosity in everything they do. A continuous holder of a Royal Warrant since 1761, the merchant has supplied royal occasions and welcomed cultural figures from Charles Dickens to Fred Astaire through its doors.

The St James’s townhouse now unfolds across four floors, available to private clients and new visitors looking to explore one of the most specialist collections of wine and spirits in London. Guests are welcomed with a reception and thoughtfully curated boutique, showcasing a selection by Justerinis’ experts for tasting and purchase. Upstairs in the first-floor Library, this private salon provides a discrete setting for clients to meet with those managing their collections for considered discussion, whilst enjoying impressive views along St James’s Street.

Further inside, the second floor presents a new invitation-only dining room: continuing the Justerinis’ legacy of playing host to friends, clients and a very British eclectic mix of high-profile figures, for spectacular dining occasions. Deep beneath the building, the historic cellar has been carefully restored as an atmospheric tasting destination, housing rare vintages from Justerinis’ reserves alongside a dedicated Casks of Distinction whisky alcove.

The reopening brings the merchant’s deep producer relationships into a physical home. From the wine world, this means direct access to rare releases from producers such as Pétrus, Château Lafleur, Roagna, Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair, Bruno Clair, and Philipponnat; and for rare spirits, first access to Diageo’s extensive Scotch portfolio, including icons such as Brora, Port Ellen, and Johnnie Walker.

At its heart remains the personalised advice Justerini & Brooks has provided to generations of collectors, from buying and cellaring to long-term collection management.
