The Floor, Not The Ceiling

The minimum you can receive is a 10 Year Old Single Cask release from an undisclosed Islay distillery, originally released only to a private client in Andorra and never sold anywhere else. Everything above it is upside.

Every Mystery Bottle

Aged 10 to 20+ years old.
Origin Single cask single malts from one of Islay’s distilleries, including Laphroaig and Bruichladdich. Some are marked undisclosed on the label, though the reveal sticker inside your shipping box will make it obvious.
Cask A mix of bourbon and sherry cask maturation, with one or two more exotic finishes in the selection too.
Retail Value £65 to £180.
ABV 48.2% to 56%, cask strength.

This version of the Dram Drop has been created exclusively for Islay Whisky Club members. Every bottle in the selection comes from Islay, some of the most celebrated, most distinctive and most fiercely individual single malts Scotland produces.

You tell us your peat preference. We handle everything else. Your bottle could be coastal and briny, richly sherried, medicinal and smoky, or something that defies easy description.

Choose one thing
Peated, non-peated or surprise me. That is the only decision you make. Everything else belongs to Islay.

The selection is set. Chance does the rest.
Every expression has been hand-selected by Greg and Kirsty from Islay distilleries. Which bottle lands with you is entirely random. No exceptions, no favourites.

The reveal is inside
A sticker on the inside lid tells you what you got, where it came from, and why. Distillery, age, cask type and tasting notes. Open it before your first dram. Or don’t.

What is in the selection

All Islay. All worthy. All random.

Every bottle has a retail value of £75 or above. Many are significantly higher, up to £180. Your allocation is entirely random within your stated preference. The only guarantee is that it came from Islay.

Islay expressions where the peat is present but measured. Fruit, salt and coastal air doing as much of the work as the smoke.

Can I choose the bottle?

No. That is the point.

Is the allocation genuinely random?

Yes. Every expression in the selection has been hand-selected by Greg and Kirsty. Which bottle comes to you is entirely random within your stated preference. No exceptions, no favourites.

What is the most I could get?

Bottles in this selection have a retail value of up to £180. We will not tell you which expressions or how often the higher value bottles appear. That would ruin it.

What does surprise me mean?

It means you are happy to receive any Islay expression regardless of peat level. The full selection is in play. Islay on its own terms.

Is this available outside the Islay Whisky Club?

No. This product is exclusive to Islay Whisky Club members. The main Dram Drop is available to everyone at greatdrams.com.

Can I buy more than one?

Yes. You might get the same bottle twice, tho this is unlikely. That is also the point.

We reuse packaging where viable and sustainable to do so. You may receive this product in a box that has been used before. For us that is the best form of recycling and forms part of our sustainability policy. If you would prefer a brand new box please state this in your order notes.
