If there’s one thing you can guarantee in the UK, it’s that the first time it gets above 10 degrees C, and the sun shines, we’ll have the BBQ out.

After consulting with our wonderful customers who love nothing more than a fine blended malt whisky as they grill, we decided to risk it for a brisket, and release our very first character whisky. Call us biased, but we love it, and so do our customers.

The Barbeque Blend is one of our most hotly anticipated spirit releases from our blended cask series and is best enjoyed straight, though not necessarily while barbequing in the garden.

If you love a peated whisky with smoky, fruity, and meaty notes, with a ridiculously smooth finish, Great Drams’ The Barbeque Blend has got to be your taste of summer. Combining peated Highlands whisky aged in sherry casks, with a Lowlands grain whisky, along with plenty more surprises along the way, this is a blended whisky that we’re extremely proud of.

On the nose, those first aromas will instantly conjure up smoky, meaty, sweet and fruity BBQ notes that only intensify once you take that first sip. This is a whisky befitting a neat dram or two, or indeed, an un-grill-ievably, refreshing blended whisky highball serve in the garden as you fire up the barbie and the family plays in the sun, or more likely in the UK, shelters from the rain.

Everything about this blended dram just screams SUMMER! From the stunning charred amber colour, reminiscent of the sausages that were left on the grill just that little bit too long, to the smoky and fruity notes and aromas you might get from a good hog roast, this is a release that’s full of character and is quintessentially British summertime. There’s spice, there’s vanilla, there’s orchard fruits, and of course, there’s smoke and peat with a rich and smooth finish that’ll have you back for more.

While we can guarantee you’ll adore this blend, we can’t guarantee you won’t incinerate the sausages or char the burgers to within an inch of their lives, especially after more than one dram. Always BBQ responsibly, and always have a takeaway menu handy, just in case.
