Here we have this truly exceptional peated, blended malt whisky, known affectionately as ‘The Badger’.

Technically we have to refer to this peated whisky as a blended malt whisky, despite the fact that 99.99999999% of it is the handy work of one distillery, whom have requested to be nameless. Without giving too much away, think iconic, think Islay, think cult status, and maybe think anagrams of Badger. Oops, did we say too much?

Now, some would call this a single malt whisky, but in actual fact, as it has been teaspooned with another delicious malt whisky, legally we can’t do that. What we can do however, is say that this Scottish malt whisky is a peated whisky drinker’s perfect tipple. It’s smoky, it’s spicy, and it offers the perfect blend of slightly rich and sweet.

Matured and aged for 4 years, it has an exquisite amber and burnt toffee colour and provides a stunning aroma. There’s vanilla, there’s spice, there’s caramel, and of course, there’s the peated notes on the nose as well.

This small batch release provides a gentle fruitiness and the perfect balance of sweet and smoky, yet for a peated dram with what you’d expect from an Islay, it’s deceptively smooth.
