Described by the Great Taste Awards judging panel, who awarded this product a 2-star Great Taste award, which means judges dubbed it above and beyond delicious as having “remarkable smoothness for its ABV. Rather extraordinary and hugely sippable. A surprising whisky, well deserving of its two stars”.

This Single Cask Single Grain Scotch Whisky was distilled at the Girvan Distillery in the Lowlands of Scotland, a distillery that is rarely seen bottled as a whisky in its own right. With sweet, creamy notes of caramel, burnt sugar, hints of fresh fruit and fresh vanilla pods, this single cask Scotch whisky is super-smooth.

Girvan is one of the industrial chic distilleries of the Scotch whisky industry and was constructed in 1963 with the first spirit running from the stills on Christmas Day.

The stills at Girvan were designed by a farmer who worked for the distillery part time purely because he had a fascination and love for technical drawings and calculations.

Single casks are the rarest releases in the whisky industry as they cannot be repeated, they are not blended & are the truest representation of a distillery’s character you can get.

Gentle interplay between unstated vanilla and even more understated spice; fat and sweet on delivery: a flavour and texture, at this age, so very well known by blenders.

Icing sugars melts as initially light peppers become more confident; a vanilla blancmange feel to the mid-point; just a little bitterness filters in from the oak, but the warm pulsing vanilla stills holds sway; and softer or more shy and this grain would barely escape from your glass. But with some cajoling you end up with a very representation of this distillery for its age.
