let’s begin
Another cracking blended malt from North Star Spirits, Vega is a wonderful concoction that will have you switching your allegiance to blended malts.
Blended Malts vs Blends
For those not in the know, blended malts are different to blends. A blend is a combination of multiple malt whiskies and grain whiskies to create a final blended whisky.
With a blended malt, it is only malt whiskies that are used, no grain. You can also get blended grain whiskies, which are only made with grain whisky, no malt.
So that’s the basics of the difference between blends, blended malts and blended grains. To really understand the difference, you need to take a deep dive into the flavour profiles of each of them and try each category on its own.
You probably already know plenty of blends, and maybe a couple of blended grains, but you probably don’t know many blended malts. That’s because they are the rarest of the categories.
Here’s where North Star Spirits Vega comes in. If you really want to try a blended malt, then we have the perfect one for you.
