Cawdor Springs Chateau Margaux Barrique Matured Single Cask Single Malt

Cawdor Springs is the ‘trade name’ given to one of our favourite distilleries in the Highlands of Scotland, not too far from Inverness (ok, I cannot say more, just Google it). Having been matured for its FULL maturation in a Chateau Margaux Wine Barrique, this Cawdor Springs single malt is big on the wine character, big on the juicy berry and tannic qualities you’d expect all with a rather decadent depth of mouthfeel and character. Proudly non-chill filtered and of natural colour.

Peated Blended Malt “The Badger”

Technically we have to refer to this peated whisky as a blended malt whisky, despite the fact that 99.99999999% of it is the handy work of one distillery, whom have requested to be nameless. Without giving too much away, think iconic, think Islay, think cult status, and maybe think anagrams of Badger. Oops, did we say too much? This small batch release provides a gentle fruitiness and the perfect balance of sweet and smoky, yet for a peated dram with what you’d expect from an Islay, it’s deceptively smooth.

Invergordon 20 Year Old Single Cask Single Grain Whisky

With fruity, fudge, and caramel notes with a touch of prune and a hint of vanilla from the ex-sherry cask it was matured in, there’s a whisper of smoke here to tie the winter fruit flavours and caramel aromas together perfectly. At 48.2% ABV, it’s mature and as smooth as you’d like. This 20-year-old for example, is a silver whisky medal winner, having won silver at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and the 2023 London Spirits Competition (LSC).

The GreatDrams Summer of Sport Blended Scotch Whisky

Glenlossie 8 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

This distillery’s whisky is not often seen in the wild as a single malt – the vast majority of the spirit produced at the distillery goes into the Diageo Blends. Purifier pipes added to the stills add to the oily mouthfeel of the resulting whisky. Expect fruity, honey notes that are as smooth as they are indulgent.
