Available exclusively from the distillery, this is a really unique Whisky and would make a fine addition to any Whisky collection.
it has been matured in PX Brandy casks made from Chestnut wood rather than the typical oak.
This gives it a really smooth body, with notes of caramel and vanilla.
Tasting notes for the Teeling PX Brandy Chestnut Wood Finish Irish Whiskey
The nose begins with malted grains, chestnut and exotic fruits such as pineapple and bananas.
This develops into a sweet caramel and maple syrup flavour, with hints of cinnamon and cream.
The palate is spicy, with more chestnut notes and cinnamon. the warmth is really lovely and goes perfectly with the smooth wood.
Cream and caramel fill the mouth with little hints of dried fruit such as raisins and dates. More bananas and exotic fruits come through, adding a lovely zest to the overall flavour.
The finish wraps everything up nicely, with a last dose of warmth and a really smooth finish.
