GreatDrams Blended Scotch Batch 02
Blended Cask Series

Blended Cask Series Batch 02 Limited Edition

Comprised of just three component whiskies, this Blended Scotch Whisky brings together three different cask maturations from three different distilleries. Whether enjoyed neat or with soda, this whisky is wise beyond its years in terms of depth of flavour owing to the use of a first fill Ruby Port Wine barrique in the recipe.

We have approached this Blended Cask Series Release a little differently, using one grain component, from the North British Distillery and two Single Malt components – an ex-Bourbon cask from the Glen Moray Distillery and a 1st-fill Ruby Port Wine Barrique from the Knockdhu Distillery. The resulting flavour is smooth, easy-drinking with notes of chocolate and berry fruits along with a vanilla sweetness to round it off.

The Great Drams Blended Cask Series 7 Years Old batch no. 2, bott Feb 20 (89.5) n22.5 green, clean and youthful, this is a rare blend that appears to have no base notes whatsoever. Both the grains and malts are at the flighty end of the scale; t23 every bit as fresh and salivating as the nose promises. A surprising degree of saltiness, too, as the barley hits the odd shrill note while the sugars are of meltin- the-mouth icing sugar-gristiness; f22 in come the spices; b22 an exceptionally bright and clean blend to be applauded. But it was like listening to the violins without a single cello to be had. 46.2%.
