The Caol Ila Distillery offers a very distinct aroma, taste, and finish that we here at GreatDrams, and our wonderful customers, can’t seem to get enough of. Caol Ila Distillery, is Islay’s largest producer of Spirit. Each year, they produce a whopping 6,500,000 litres of peated spirit that you just won’t find anywhere else.

From this single malt you’ll get grassy/cereal notes combined with ripe fruits, fresh pear, and a hint of exotic spice intertwined effortlessly with stronger, more exotic fruit notes. Top that off with the salinity and salted coastal influences that Islay is famous for, along with the peated character and smoke you get from a good Islay, and it’s easy to see why this gold whisky medal winning dram is proving so popular amongst critics and casual Scottish malt whisky drinkers alike.

This single cask, single malt whisky however, looks just as magnificent as it tastes. A light golden amber colour, it resembles golden sunlight in a glass.

Offering bold and fruity notes, and the perfect balance of spice, peat and smoke, the bourbon casks and barrels the whisky was matured in really gives the spirit a stunning aroma and smooth finish, with a flavour that is out of this world!
