TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Immediately striking. Big, juicy berry fruit leads: blackcurrant, bramble, a little blueberry. The Malaga wine cask has done extraordinary work in 15 years, transferring a depth of wine character that sits alongside the grain spirit’s natural sweetness rather than fighting it. There’s something almost confectionery about the nose at first. Then the oak and grain come through and ground it. Boozy, rich and genuinely exciting.
PALATE
This is what boozy Ribena tastes like when it grows up and goes to a very good party. Dark berry fruit dominates, layered with wine-soaked oak and the creamy grain character that makes Invergordon what it is. The Malaga influence is not subtle and it’s not trying to be. This is a whisky that commits fully to its own character. Rich, fruity, distinctive, and genuinely unlike anything we’ve released before.
FINISH
Long and fruit-driven. The berry notes carry through to the very end, fading into a warm wine-and-oak dryness that keeps things honest. The grain spirit’s natural smoothness ensures the finish is never aggressive, even as the fruit intensity remains. A Christmas finish in the best possible sense: generous, warm, and worth returning to.

WHY THIS CASK
The Christmas Series exists because we think the season deserves a whisky with genuine personality rather than a seasonal label on a standard release. Invergordon in a first fill Malaga wine cask for 15 years produces something genuinely festive without being forced. The big berry and wine character arrived naturally from the cask. The boozy Ribena note on the label is not a marketing phrase. It’s exactly what it tastes like, and it’s exactly what made us decide this was the 2026 Christmas release. 180 bottles. THE DISTILLERY, HONESTLY
Invergordon single grain matured in a wine cask is a different proposition from the ex-sherry and ex-bourbon expressions we’ve released before. The Malaga wine cask brings something specific: a deep, fruit-driven richness that wine casks share with no other maturation vessel. Invergordon’s natural grain character, smooth and creamy by nature, provides the ideal canvas for that influence. 15 years in the cask meant the two had ample time to reach an understanding. The result is one of the most distinctive whiskies we’ve released.
